Hi, I looked through your photos and you have some nice pictures. I just wanted to point out that the D90 does not have VR (vibration reduction) built into the body. It has a built-in focus drive motor. The D40 does not have that. So, the D40 cant auto-focus with older lenses and some of the newer lenses (the lenses need a built-in focus drive motor for the D40 to AF). The only dslr body's that have built in VR or IS (Image stabilization) are Olympus, Sony and, Pentax. For all other manufacturers if you want VR or IS you have to get it in the lens.

As for the 6mp vs 12mp, do you print? If you print large (16"x20" or larger) you will need more then 6mp. If you dont print large are dont print at all then, more mp is pointless.
Yes you're right I though it was the VR but it was the Auto-Focus motor which lack inside my D40... That's also why I was thinking to upgrade to D90. I'd like to have the Sigma 150-500mm but I think it doesn't have the Auto-Focus motor in the lens so with my D40 I'll be stuck with manual focus mode which is kind of a letdown...

I do not print my pics however sometime when I crop them I have the feeling that I'm limited with my 6mp. I'd like to see the difference between 6 & 12. Anyway there's always a good excuse to have the greatest and lastest equipment [rofl] Sadly it won't be for now...
