I have only claimed on mobile phone insurance (possibly others if think about it) and never been told to go elsewhere after. I know loads of people who have made home insurance claims and are still with their providers.

That's because it's a HUGE scam. They send you a refurbished phone that's less than what you've paid in premiums since you got it on a contract renewal.

I don't bother with phone insurance. At least not what carriers here offer. There's caps on replacement, always a refurb, a deductible, and the monthly cost. You could get a newer, better, device for what you pay in insurance on a phone.
