I agree, opening a doro and expecting to be thanked, or getting upset if you're not..is not really displaying a kindness towards someone, but rather an act of egotism.

Bullshit. If I do someone a favour, like holding the door open for them, I expect them to show some appreciation. Not just walk through and say nothing like I'm their servant. Like I said before, it's rude. It's like they stuck two fingers up at me.
