It's actually one of the less brutal household implements to get hit with. Broomstick upside the head leaves a knot, and served as a swift reminder of what I was told, and must have forgotten.

I knew some kids growing up, who had a Japanese mom, and she would beat them with those sections of plastic Hot Wheel tracks. Those are pretty hardcore.
