What is there to be proud of being foot soldiers of the Turks buster? besides, haven't you been shown countless times that Gragn was most likely not a Somali even though he had probably many Somali foot soldiers. The campaign against the Solomonids by the Adalites was solely the result of the former power encroaching on the latter, there were no Ottomans needed to entice them into invading the highlands, the grievances were already there. As a heritage lover of any religion, i have to agree though that the first part of the campaign was something that should have been done differently and those artistical treasures should have been left alone.
