disappointing to hear the crowds for the semi finals were small - but it does not come as a surprise. really think this comp is now followed by a few die hards. there is a bit of interest still in the comp but not to the point of attending matches for most people. i am not convinced that perth has good public transport either. in fact i think it is poor. unless you live on one of the few train lines you would have to drive to the match or catch a bus. melbourne has better public transport than perth - and has always drawn big crowds to the G. fantastic crowds for the four games this weekend gone. regardless that city just lives, eats, breaths footy. perth just does not - perhaps there is just too much other things going on, leisure pursuits, cultural things, reli bashes etc - perhaps everyone just stays home and stares at the walls.
i doubt the poor crowds were the reason the bulldogs were pulverised - they were due for a downer, just getting to the finals was a big effort, and subi are really getting there game on now. i think they can really challenge the tigers, but they have to get past wp first.
