Why wouldn't they call people who are on their list? Apparently military recruiters have to work hard to find enough suitable people who meet admission criteria.

The recruiters for the Canadian troopers calls Asher every day, knocks on his door, sends him flowers and chocolates.

It was not the Canadian Forces that tried to recruit me, it was CSIS.

They knew my talents would be wasted as cannon fodder.
