I don't know what legal basis opposition to this would have but as a matter of principle, I believe there is nothing wrong with recording officers making arrests.

We've had video recordings of police brutality. I wonder why the people who taped those incidents weren't arrested for making the recordings?

However, with this particular case, the cops were pretty nice to let her call her mother. She betrayed their trust
