Here in Tucson, we have "mail in" ballots ... we no longer go to a polling place ... it's all done via US Snail Mail, which I think is really stupid and very expensive. The day after we mailed our ballots, we received a phone call from one of the parties, asking if we had voted ... we replied 'yes' ... and the caller then asked "who did you vote for?"

Well, needless to say, that's none of their business, and I tell them so ... voting is by secret ballot ... they will find the results when the votes are tallied. One time I must have stupefied the caller when I answered "well, I did not like any name on the ballot, so I wrote in Ross Perot and mailed it in!" There was a long silence on the phone line - what seemed several minutes ... then the caller simply hung up, apparently not able to comprehend my write in candidate.
