So Exxon, BP, and whomever else are in country with private security extracting product with American Airpower ready on standby. What is this clown talking about ?

KBR, Veritas, DynCorp, IAP, WGI, Renco, US Army(in a world that was becoming significantly less dependant on ground forces), BAE, Northrop Grumann, Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, etcetry, etcetry...

War is very profitable. Especially when you have a "wealthy" nation that has multiple venues of funding ranging from broad defence budget to supplementary emergency bills passed by a Congress that just throws fucking money at any problem.
