How do you do it? What I mean is, when does it stop being so difficult to remove lustful thoughts? Or at the least control them?
A first step might be to observe ways that you may be feeding the creation of these thoughts, consciously or unconsciously. If we eat asparagus, our urine stinks. If we put lust in our mind stream, we get lustful thoughts. If we play with fire, we get hot.

A second step might be to simply observe these thoughts without reacting to them through actions, or by attempting to "remove" them or "control them". Just neutrally observe, without judgement, how and when they arise. Note their quality. Note that they rise and if left alone, they dissipate. Just let these thoughts be, and they will be what they are...just thoughts. We don't have to believe or be dragged around by our thoughts. We don't have to get sticky with them. They are just more weather. The same applies to bodily sensations.
