Hi Aloka-D, Jin Zen,
I was trying to do mindfulness too, and found that The Four Foundations of Mindfulness (Satipatthana-sutta) was useful as a guidance on how-to go about doing that exactly.
4 frames of mindfulness are, body, feelings, mind, mental objects.
Anyway, look up the Sutta. And I use the noting 'I have sense desire in me', 'I have passion' in me when doing mindfulness and finding that I have sense desires or cravings.
