They are something I don't understand with the term is hispanic, for example. A brazilian of 100% german origine , his family is in america since two century , he is 100% ethnic german but assimilited of brazilian culture . If he immigrate in Usa .

He would be consider hispanic ? in the american census.

Those kind of thing i don't consider with the term hispanic. Why white hispanic aren't just consider white american .
I think in the US, the term hispanic only applies to spanish speaking, latin americans. Not sure if that applies to brazilians. Although, the average american will probably think Brazil speaks spanish. But i'm not sure if they would think "hispanic" after hearing the language though.
