catalans are called Polish, lol, why because they are persecuted by bigger neighbours?

One theory is that Spanish have never understood our language, so they said our language "sounds like Polish".

But in the Spanish Civil War, spanish army used to sing:
Catalan, Jew and renegade ones
You'll pay for all.
... therefore, the word "Polish" may be related with the attitude of Hitler between Polland.
