-Antiquity to Early Middle Ages: Due to the fact that Hungarians arrived in Europe in 895, they missed 2 critical periods in European history: the Roman empire and the Germanic invasions. -High Middle Ages (10-15 century): Spaniards spent much of this period fighting the muslims of Al-Andalus. The Kingdom of Hungary was one of the most powerful states in Europe. Modern ages: Spain participated in many wars during this period up until the Napoleonic period. After that the only major war it participated in was its own civil war. Hungary was engaged in fighting the ottoman empire during this time period up until the union with Austria; it then went on to participate in both World Wars at the side of the Germans. Verdict: -Hungarians are whiter than Spaniards based on phenotype. -Spain was throught its early and middle history isolated from the rest of europe and enganged in fighting muslims in the iberian peninsula. It was only after the fall of Al-Andalus that Spain began participating in contemporary european history and politics. Hungary has been since its formation more involved in mainstream european history.
