No, I don't think so. I think most people stick to their own. I live near Boston, and I see a lot of Brazilian Americans dating outside of our ethnic group. They usually date Italian Americans, Portuguese Americans, Irish Americans, WASPs, and "half Brazilians". I feel like the Brazilian American community isn't going to develop a distinct identity because of this, at least not here in the Greater Boston area.

I think it's because there's a shortage of potential partners of their ethnic group in the community they live in, which is why someone may opt to date outside their ethnic group. I imagine Slavs were a minority wherever you grew up. Maybe you would have more of a penchant for your own women if you were raised and went to school in a predominantly Polish American enclave.

The big screen and real life are self-excluding. T.V. programs are not an objective representation of reality. Most people date and marry their own ethnic groups. Gosh, I'm starting to think you're trolling. For example, in Russian 93% of Russian men marry russian women. It's 87% the other way around because of the scarcity of men in Russia. For 10 women there are only 9 men. So that one example dissproves your theory.
Well, I think he's speaking from an American perspective.
