Just like I said most africans do have Nubian roots, besides tribes like the Khoisan, and the Twa (so called pygmy). And you are WRONG, there are strong connections. Today, the Nubas of the Nuba Mountains are direct descendants of the ancient Nubians, The Nuer People of Sudan, the Dinkas and a number of "Nilotic" peoples as well as many people in East&West Africa of Bantu linguistic origins are also of Nubian origins. In fact, although it is said that the Bantu ( Ba-Ntu ) migrated from Nigeria to populate the rest of Southern Africa about five thousand years ago, there is a significant of what appears to be close linguistic similarities between some Nilotic and ancient Egyptian and Cushite languages with the Bantu Languages, both of which originated in the Sahara.

Some of what you are saying is just internet 'here-say' / nonsense - Hardly any of this is REAL scholarship. Can you provide a source about similarities between Nilotic and Egyptian/Cushitic? What about Cushitic and Bantu? .............or even a Cushitic or Bantu origin in the Sahara? Provide a source other than "Clyde Winters"

On another note the term "Nubian" has been a generic term used to describe African Americans for a VERY long time....similar to the way they used the term "Ethiopian". (See Negro league team "Ethiopian Clowns") - In that context i dont think its an issue. You can never know the motives of people so I dont think its correct to describe folks as "Wannabees".

Being "African Americans" is not static.........people change their "ethnicity", I know more than a few that are "Arabized" and speak arabic/english - Africans do this too and consider themselves "Arabs". There are Aframs that adopt West African culture through marriage. For all intents and purposes my kids will be "Ethiopian" and be bilingual...If I moved to Ethiopia we would just be 'absorbed' into that society. How different is this from West Africans switching ethnicity due to whatever reasons or Children being "Jewish because their mother is Jewish"........."Arab because their father is Arab"...being "Egyptian".............cause they "Adopted Egyptian culture and language" ?

People seem to have issues with you calling yourself something now seen as a "Distinct" unit. Personally i could care less what people call themselves. Yeah i think its dumb that that guy changed his name to "Sara Suten Seti" and gave his twins Egypto-Nubian names but --- whatever.

If you really want to be Nubian move to Sudan, learn the language and marry a Nubian.
