Africans are not black, what you are trying to refer is sub-saharans. Because Africans can be any type of ethnic / racial / sub-racial group inside of the African continent, like the bushmen down south ( who aren't even close to black they range from dark brownish to a bit light brownish). black is a term mainly to identify someone who's from Sub-sahara africa or has sub-saharan origins, and that's fairly dark, almost looking like 'black" even tho they aren't really that color. "White" (people) as I told you before is another example..
