Some of the more extreme internet racists may not be for real. Just as law enforcement has agents pretending to be 12-year old girls online in order to entrap potential pedophiles, some internet racists are really provocateurs that make some of the most outrageous and over-the-top statements in order to bait potentially violent miscreants for law enforcement.

A few years ago, Hal Turner, an internet radio show host, was arrested for advocating violence against some legislators and judges. It was later revealed that he had been paid by the FBI to spy on and be an informant on some radical groups.
