I wouldn't hit anyone, but if you are speaking of freedom of speech, you know that the person you offend if on the right of also use his freedom of speech too.But if would be better to the person insulting not to insult.

I think the only people who resort to violence because of words are people incapable of expressing themselves properly with words. At any rate, I don't think Freedom of Speech legally covers punching someone.
