This video claims they were Arab by Saudi scholars (English start after 2 min).

I skipped around the video and the guy makes some odd errors. He names the Vandals and states Roderick came down from the north with a Christian army and conquered the the Vandals....um, wtf?

He also said the kings and queens of Europe use to "vie with one another to learn Arabic." I never heard that one.
