^why would they care? this is CCTV international, which most chinese won't watch anyway.

Btw, Jack, I don't think this is the first black news presenter, CCTV-9 has had, although she might be the first African. I remember when I was back in China last summer, and watching CCTV-9 there was a black guy, but he spoke w/ a british accent.

Actually the original article said first in "Asia" I know that was false because I saw a black American in Japan on an English news station in 2002!

I think they mean 'African' you are right.

This woman's father works for Mugabe.

She didn't get this job just because she was so talented.
