I thought I was going to have to break up a fight. Every Friday evening, there is this Afghan dude who sets up a food stand near where I live. He sells this one bean dish, I can never remember what it's called, but it's damn good. Anyways, I decided to pick some up to go with some left over chicken and rice I had. At the stand, the Anglo lady behind me was looking at what I bought, and the Afghan dude asked if she would like some. She replied "No, I don't like worms".
He got very mad and yelled at her, I guess he thought she was insinuating that Afghans ate worms. But the Anglo population here as slang sometimes refers to beans as worms. Anyways, she apologized for saying that and he apologized for misunderstanding and that was that. Then when she left, he admitted to me he was kind of embarrassed that he misunderstood.
