I've seen it in other ethnicities but never in euro descendant people until now.....

Me either, not the way he expressed it anyway. He seemed very confused. But there are many people here (Sweden) who is torn between the old and the new ways of doing stuff. Some people want to be ultra modern city rats and some want to be and live more traditional.

Racially I have not encountered the same behavior.
