I guess Canada has pretty high suicide rates because of that?

Cold people are the ones with highest suicide rates (like Finns).
We're not incredibly high, but high enough. Immigrants have higher suicide rates. I think this is because Canadians aren't as outgoing as say, our neighbours to the South. Native born Canadians are used to this mentality, but immigrants may not be. We don't really approach people, so if an immigrant wants to make friends they have to approach Canadians, and I can imagine they are too shy to do so sometimes being it's a different culture. This can lead to a lonely existence. But we will be nice, and be your friend, if you approach us, we definitely won't bite. I guess we are a shy nation (that and it's considered kind of rude to be all up in a new person's business, we assume that they will approach when they are ready, we don't want to bother you).
