It is very common in Australia to call people "black fellas" or "white fellas" and I don't see anything derogatory in it either way.


But, as I see it, - Australian Aboriginal people have more in common with other First Nations peoples than say African Americans.

For example when The National Congress of Australia’s First People's meeting was held this year, the Executive Director of The National Congress of American Indians was there to give the keynote address.
