I see the similarity between Acadiasn and PR jibaro people, majority of Jibaros are pred Euro but with native gene input and also culturally Jibaros are pred euro but with some Taino influence.
Yeah, there could be. I will have to do more research on Jibaro people. Intermarriages were pretty rare in Acadia (although they did happen), relations were mainly either business or platonic friendship related. Acadians more or less integrated with Natives while maintaining parts of their French culture, but adopted Native customs and knowledge that were better suited for the new land or unknown in any European cultures but necessary for survival or gaining of knowledge in the new lands.

I'd say Acadians have more cultural influence from Amerindians than genetic. But this is good. Other French settlers died, because they were too stubborn and wouldn't adopt Amerindian agricultural techniques for example... but European ones don't work here because the soil is different, so they starved.
