I think is about idiosyncrasy. If I lived in the US, I think I'd have most 'American' than 'Hispanic' friends. Just because of idiosyncrasy It's not something bad, according to me.

That's my situation, but I grew up in Anglo areas.

As for the OP as long as your culturally and socially fit in with your surroundings I don't get why you'd need anything else.
