There are many countries in Africa (like South Africa, Angola etc) where they separate mulattos from black. For example its very frequent in Angola to hear to stuff like this :

"I saw a very beautiful woman today..."

"How was she? Was she black?..."

"No, she was a 'latona (Mulatta)"

If Obama was running for president in an African country, it would be pratically impossible for him to win because he is mixed

Well if he came out of no where and tried to claim his father's lineage to run yeah he would lose...but if was well rooted in a big enough ethnic group he could win even if he's half white in some countries.
