Do you think they're into those body types because it denotes youthfulness?

Petite and skinny at the same time are opposite to my standard, i like petite and voluptuous or skinny and tall.

For me and all the guys i know it is not about youthfulness, also i see skinny women and chubby for different uses. Skinny denotes elegance and sophistication, ideal as girlfriend, mother and family member. Chubby, is more like you know ...hot and sexual aggressive.
Same happens to women they are attracted to guys like Pierce Brosnan, elegant men, or Bruce Willys, "macho" guys. See Sexy son Hypothesis

For the record these are extreme and illustrative examples, i have had chubby and skinny girlfriends and both were excellent.

About men choosing Asian girlfriends, i think it is related to the idea that the Asians girls are submissive and the western women are more "femminist" but that is an American phenomena.
