Bismihi Ta’ala
Whilst it is a matter of personal choice, and both have great merits and tremendous rewards; when we were planning for Umrah in Ramadaan, I had made mashwarah with my respected Shaykh, Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (Rahmatullahi Alayh) and had asked as to where we should spend the last 10 nights and Eid. Maulana responded, ‘Eid with Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam).’
Alhamdulillah. May Allah Ta’ala grant us another opportunity.
Alhamdulillah, the itinerary is a very good one – especially considering the overwhelming crowd in Makkah Mukarramah.
From my little knowledge : An Umrah in Ramadaan is equivalent to performing Hajj with Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam).
And the Hadeeth also mentions that whoever performs 40 Salaah in Masjidun Nabawi (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam), not missing one Salaah in between – then the rewards are : Freedom fron the Fire of Jahannum, freedom from punishment and the person will be free from hypocrisy.
So you secure both rewards, Insha-Allah.
And together with this, is I`tikaaf in the blessed company of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam). Noorun 'ala Noor.
Hazrat Maulana Yunus Patel (RA) would say, that in Ramadaan, it becomes even more evident that our host in Madina Munnawarah is Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) – when one sees the magnificent arrangements made for the Iftaar – almost as if Rasulullah (Sallallaahu ‘alayhi waSallam) is sitting at the head of the dastrakhan and providing so so generously for the guests in his city. His barakah is so much more manifest in Ramadaan.
May Allah Ta’ala make the safr easy and grant complete acceptance to all who are going.
Please do remember us in duas – also for return to the Haramayn Shareefayn and our Salaams at the Raudha Mubarak.
