Now in the old days before the Sports Forum came into existence, this would have provided a good basis for an elaborate thread in the OT. As it turned out, I posted about it in the World Football Thread and was lucky enough (!) to solicit just a couple of replies So... wait. In teh "Good Old Days" you would have posted a THREAD in the OT about it. But you decided to post a POST in a thread dedicated to discussion of World Football and were disappointed when the big fans moved on to other things about World Football in that thread and that casual posters didn't want to slog through pages and pages of stuff to find that information.

Have I got that right? So... what exactly was your justification for not posting a thread in the Sports Forum on the issue? Let's try to compare apples to apples, shall we?

There's just one thread with NO replies on the World Athletics Championships, for crying out loud! Before, it'd have gotten massive responses in the OT for the two weeks' duration of the meet. Talk is cheap. I doubt there'd be discussion (forget about "massive responses") on the World Athletics Championships in the Off Topic either.

As it is, the very invention of a Sports Forum has killed off any broader discussion of sports like we used to have on here. Ah, the self-fulfilling stuff again. Why don't you try to have some threads about "broader discussion of sports"?

Oh, and don't hold your breath about the admins deciding to put the sports threads back into the OT.
