Hello again Herman. Thanks for replying.

My friends response was in a conversation where I said that Christ went to Sheol and preached to the captives and then led them to Paridise.

He was aware of the 3 points that you made and agreed with them but didn't know any more about the Death of Christ than He died for our sins.

I've read more about the happenings during those 3 days but it's been in books that were talking about other things.

Also Our Hymnography and Literagy talks about many things including Christ's defeating the Devil and putting him in chains and the gates of hell being destroyed and opened for good.

Also The Illumanating of hell by Christ.

Unless I'm way off base, these things were discussed by Church Fathers somewhere. I just figured there would be a book somewhere - hopefully in English - that I could point to without depending on my opinion. Cause we know where our opinions come from, don't we. (page 106 of the "Ladder")
