I have an Iberian grandparent but that shouldn't make me deviate significantly from the Mexican norm as the rest of my known lineage are all Spanish-speaking and Mexican-born mestizos. I'd show up more on the European side on an autosomal test, but hardly anything atypical as I would still have substantial Amerindian admix. Ethnically speaking, my family and I identify solely as Mexican, even if we technically have recent 'foreign' ancestry (not truly foreign anyway considering Mexico's ethnogenesis)

I probably have low levels of SSA admix from way back in the colonial period or maybe even some distant French ancestry from Napoleon's/Maximilian of Habsburg's occupation, but most likely nothing completely extraneous to Mexico's mixed racial and ethnic origins.

I do presume I'm pure-blooded Caucasian and Prussian, after looking into the history. These people were comprised of both 'German' and 'Polish' blood and that is what my parents represent. Furthermore, I know I have Prussian ethnicity through my father's mother. And it seems "pure-blooded" Prussian ethnic identity is rare, due to repeated extermination attempts against the Prussian people by who we now refer to as 'Germans'. It fits. It also explains why my grandparents didn't instill a great deal of pride into my father, in order to become Amerikan, due to the 'expired' nature of the Prussian ethnic identity. These people are/were dispersed down to the last man/woman/child.

Regardless, I am Amerikan and consider this my complete social identity. I was born & raised (at least 3rd generation) in the US.

Furthermore, it seems my family name is derived from Królewiec/Königsberg/Kaliningrad…

All correct.

I was asked if I was full Sicilian, which I am not.

For the record, two of my great grandparents hailed from Northern Italy. Liguria and Lombardia, to be exact.
Interesting, is that normal in the US or did Italian sub-groups tend to marry within their own sub-groups?

While the mafioso Joseph Bonanno was a first cousin several times removed, my family abhors the mafia, and I would sooner agree to be a janitor for the rest of my life than a hitman, pimp, or drug dealer.
Fair enough, and I suppose the mafia isn't what it once was. Do wiseguys still really exist or are they largely gone now?

I have no respect for most criminals for but I'd make an exception for LCN, at least they had order, rules and a genuine code of honour- of course that's gone now.

As Jam has said, nobody is pure in the world. If the question is -and judging from the "8" parts- that my grandparents' parents were spaniards, the answer is yes. However, I must have "recent" ancestors from our northern neighbour (my first surname prooves it)

Despite my African appearance. I'm at least a 1/4 Irish/British from both sides of my family, and a lil bit Native American from my paternal and maternal grandmothers. But its average genalogy for an African American who's lived in the US for at least 6 generations or more.

I am 100% pure Romanian but this includes some Romanian-Greeks on my mother's side, but they were Romanians who hailed from northern Greece, or Aromanians-not sure. The last name was 'Costache', which sounds like a Romanized version of the Greek 'Kostakis'.

All my many DNA results show me to be 100% caucasoid, though--so pure ethnically and racially.

there's the mixed people who are racially insecure
I am not insecure, and I am only 1/16 Canarian and 1/8 Peninsular Spanish ancestry, the rest is Puertorican.

I should have stuck a comma in there, I wasn't saying all mixed race/ethnicity people are insecure about it but there is a number of them who are.

I'm ethically pure, Heck I can trace all of my known ancestors to the countryside of two small towns that are located only a couple of miles apart.

Racially I'm mix although I'm around 7/8 Caucasian.

Yes, I was referring that you were native to DR, in PR we also say criollo to anything native to us, I am not completely native as I have close foreign ancestry as I stated on my first post on this thread.

Sorry I thought you meant criollo as in pure Spaniard. But yea I'm a Dominican native (criollo) considering that my family has been in the island for centuries and I don't have any known recent foreign ancestry.

In my case, the totally ethnic dominican part of my family is the paternal one, cuz' my maternal one is a hodgepodge of andalusian, canarian, puertorican and jamaican ancestries. Although I suspect that my mother's case might be like yours: A caucasoid looking woman with an african hg (via a jamaican great grandma).

Yes, criollo means "native"Spanirds in Latin America were called that way to distinguish themselves form Europe born peoples.

Probably most of the people who bash other ethnicities and go on about purity are not pure themselves.

And yes, I am "pure", though I didn't know I was until recently. Nor did I care, nor do I care (other than finding it interesting).
