For some reason it is still much more common to see a Black man and a White woman than vice versa, but I don't think that is because Blacks don't want their women to marry White men.

Most people keep to their own colour, but that is true of almost everywhere in the world, for varying reasons.

well there's def less of that sorta thing going on here than in say NYC or San Francisco.
but it does happen. I know a couple of chicks who dated black dudes, although both of them have white boyfriends now. My bud married a black chick after dating black chicks for a few years etc. My friend's cousin married a 2nd gen philipino girl.

city of detroit is 90 or so percent black.
some suburbs that border detroit like southfield or roseville have a pretty high percentage of blacks as well.

This cultural / religious fear of the father or brothers honor killing the woman or her boyfriend, doesn't seem to carry much weight here. I suppose you're more likely to be killed for your valuables than family honor of your Muslim girlfriend in our society.

yeah, I heard of some incidents in canada where muslim chicks were beaten by their parents for dating outside of their community. one of them got killed.
there's a pretty sizable christian arab community here, they don't have any reservations dating white or black dudes from what I can tell.
muslims too though - know a pakistani chick (2nd gen) who is dating a white dude, but I would guess it's less common.

Also it's not that unusual here for 2nd generation kids from Muslim families to convert to some local Christian denomination. Roman Catholic Mexicans sometimes convert as well. Old world cultural and religious enclavism doesn't get the same mileage here.

it has more to do with culture not religion, certain ethnicities are more strict compared to others even though they are both muslims. in Britain for example there is an huge asian (Pakistani) community where honor killings are quite frequent, they live in an enclosed community and most people know each other.

i actually believe that asian/arab muslims are far more stricter and relegious compared to african muslims

^^ Right. Here the Pakistani population is pretty small and there is no enclave. I know a family where the older generation was a Pakistani Muslim husband, Mexican Roman Catholic wife, and their son is a local Protestant married to a local white woman.
