Depends. I find it living in a majority white-American neighborhood quite pleasant people seem more polite and everything is much more organized and tranquil then let say a multi ethnic "ghetto" neighborhoods. But I also like being around other ethnic group such as south asians, east asians, hispanics who seem to be attracted to living a normal civilize life with the rest of us and at the same time it creates variety in a majority white-American society.

I don't care if where I live is mono-ethnic or multi-ethnic, I just care if the people are nice.
Honestly when I look for places to live, I look at the following criteria: Job opportunities Cost of living Cleanliness Crime rate Hospitals Shopping Things to do (clubs, festivals, museums, art galleries, recreational facilities, parks, etc) Demographics is not on that list. |

Foreign population on a low level. I'd like to live in a state with sensible immigration policies; a country- and skill-based quota system, a complete ban on family reunification, and so on. I don't mind seeing uncommon faces or coming into contact with foreign cultures, but they must not be allowed to form durable communities in their host country. Immigration should be limited, diverse and selective. With all our knowledge of psychology and sociology, Western governments still can't seem to figure out how to engineer policies that aren't suicidal and/or short-sighted. |

I live in a country very diverse, ethnically speaking.. sometimes it bothers me that the only region with general traits of culture that I identify myself with is the South, (Rio Grande do Sul - Osório lives in my heart hehehe, Santa Catarina e Paraná), in other hand I find amazing the fact that Brazil is so diverse and I can see different cultural manifestations all over the place!!

My country was never ever 100% mono-ethnic some day. At least in the last 1000 years. |

That's just my assumption, I never lived in a multi-ethnic upper middle class neighborhood, most tend to be majority white. |

^^You're being very nit picky there. The only ones that are a visible minority are the Gypsies and they're not so many I think. On the topic -- I would not have any problem to live in a relatively multi-ethnic society unless they were predominantly all northern Europeans. At least here in the last centuries we've dealt with a constructive immigration of others northern European ethnicities as lived/living with them in a very natural way (mostly Germans, one of most numerous group that in last 400 years have moved in large numbers for our society, being of easy assimilation into our ethnos). -- Well a plenty of Swedes may have Danish, Finnish or German ancestors as having currently Norwegians cousins etc. No bid deal! In my family I have relatives who identify themselves as Swedes and others as Danes. For a multi-racial society I'm not fond of it. I find so destructive as was a disaster for my hometown in the last two decades I would not want to see it for the rest of my country.. |
