Do those faces in the picture look above-average to anyone else, or just me? |

I guess it's official; the Welsh are the darkest in the Isles. ---------- Post added 2011-02-06 at 02:19 ---------- The Swedish one is the prettiest, IMO. Welsh looks to me very close to spanish morph, nothing like swedish morph though.... |

an average morph does not connote an "average" girl. rather the science of attraction says that we are attracted to those who display the most "average" (tehnically, the mean) facial metrics within a population, that is to say, the one that possesses the mean inter-eye distance, nasal length, philtrum length, etc is one we find to be most attractive. the problem is though, very few within a population actually possess the combination of all these average facial metrics, therefore, the "average" girl is much less attractive than the "average" morph, which is given to be mean of the all metrics w/in the population. Are the females randomly being sampled, and are "ugly" women considered into the samples?? Because all a scientist would need to do, is, cherry-pick women from the particular population at the start. Or is this not 'scientific' but just focused on morphology (computer) software? |

That makes sense; that must be the reason why the girls in the pictures look "above-average" in appearance, due to the morphology of sexually attractive features into a standard mean. however, there is poster, Herauscorritse, who does these morphs (for now, they're mostly european). He looks for faces of people with surnames endogenous to a particular region and does morphs of them, and he seems to be fairly unbiased in regards to the attractiveness of the faces in his sample (indeed, some of them are quite unattractive). but the results always seem to look more or less quite attractive. his european morphs http://anthroeurope.blogspot.com/ and the ones he has done for various departements of france http://anthrofrance.blogspot.com/ pretty interesting to peruse, though i warn you, you may lose many hours on this site. |

It looks like some of the pictures' aspect ratios have been squished (see Iranian, Indian, Greek, German, Centra African, African American, Thai...)
Also, the fact that these morphs look attractive is probably not only due to the morphin process. The ones for several countries, especially European ones have unusually angular features which makes me think that at least a significant part of the sample is made out of models. As of personal favourites, I'd have to say Indian, Peruvian, Puerto Rican, South African (lol though) and Greek. The Hungarian also has something going on about her, in a more old school kind of attractivity. |

For me, the prettiest are (not in order):
Uzbek Greek Peruvian Finnish There are of course differences between peoples: Spanish more often have long nose and short gap between the nose and the mouth (like Penelope Cruz); this I find unattractive. In Northern Europe, nose is more often shorter and the gap between the nose and the mouth longer than in Spain. Probably our own face also determines which type we find attractive... |

The facial features of the Israeli and the Italian morphs look very similar, but the Israeli has a longer and narrower head. The Finnish morph and the Swedish morph look very much alike, despite the impression I got reading these forums. My favorite overall, is the French morph. |

No, the Italian morph is closer to the Greek morph. |
