Default David Duke arrested in Germany
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/1...n_1119010.html

This situation is kind of odd, on one hand, Duke is a twisted individual, and on the other hand Germany probably doesn't want to make itself look like its against free speech (even if it is racist). What do you guys think?

Duh, Germany has restrictions on freedom of speech about anything to do with the Jewish holocaust, and he is a major holocaust denier. Surely he knew this would happen and went there to get publicity.

Why? Are black males violent or something? Should words be met with violence?

With the crap he's talking about them of course they're gonna be violent to him. If you put a Black supremacist near a group of White convicts they're going to act violently too.

Such words are very offensive, and people who have ben throught a lot of prejudice wouldn't react peacefully to it as they are fed up of it.

I just always find it amusing when people say stuff like that. I've seen and heard people say "Oh, I bet you wouldn't say that to a black person or you would get your ass beat" implying that black people resort to violence from the slightest provocation.

Only like 10% of convicts are violent criminal so I guess it would depend on the convict.

So then it is ok to use violence to silence people we disagree with?

Who was? Honestly I don't really know anything about the guy. Who was assaulted because of him?

Errr, it is not easy for people to deal with another person who think he is superior and then start speaking crap about others about them being inferior and stuff, sometimes when people act nicely to them, they just continue to provoke and offend more, so the people don't have another choice but to use not nice ways to shut some people up as what they say is very irritating.

What does what I said have to do with that? Why are you asking me?

I was responding to that moron above when he asked what Duke was arrested for.

Interesting. Where I come from it is against the law to assault people and freedom of speech is protected. If we do not protect unpopular speech there is no point in freedom of speech. It is not really freedom if people are only allowed to say things we agree with.

I was just using your answer about why he was in jail to highlight the situation. I didn't actually mean to ask you the question though I understand that is how it looked.

Also hitting people back is freedom of speech, they are speaking their mind on the fist, like someone sayÿour rights finih wehre the other person's rights starts"

You can say whatever you want, you won't go to jail for it, but also people will not go to jail for hitting anyone for their free speech as tha is also part of freedom of speech.

Who is this guy? Is he a notorious racist or something? He sure doesn't look like he'd fit the bill - ofcourse you can't judge a book by its cover though.
