Back in high school, when I was a freshman I would sit with these group of guys who were pretty cool but slightly racist. They used to call me Pacco. And there upperclassmen friend would sit over at the table to the right of us, one day I over heard them saying that he doesn't sit here because I look Spanish. Was the first time I ever felt ashamed to be what I was.
Of course there were non specific times of being called white boy and cracker but those didnt really affect to much as the first story did. Senior year I was kind of a douche to a lot of the youngins, at our table we would throw juice bags at the kids that would go up to get drinks out of the drink machine. One time I threw one at a weird gothic kid and he called me out and called me a dirty mexican. Didnt hurt just thought it was worth noting. I know you guys have way worse stories than this, so post them. |

only once... when i was younger my friends joked around and called me spike(mix of spic and kike) but it was all in good fun but the only time where someone racially offended me was when my ex girlfriends mother who is supposedly a christian said it was impossible for me to be a christian because i was jewish and there was no way i could be saved... it was like wow i did not think anybody could really offend me ethnically because i wouldnt care if anyone called me any slurs or whatever but this was truly hurtful

When I was in High School there was this Sub that would always send me to the office at the beginning of class whenever he encountered me after he said I got smart with him or something along those lines.. When he wrote me up he put "I had to send a large black man to the office"

In Germany I got jumped as a kid by 3 older boys because of my 'black hair' and 'foreign looks'.
They eventually ran off because an old lady nearby shouted at them. In spite of that I had a good time in Germany. In Miami me and friends got into street fights with people of various ethnicities and racial epithets were thrown all around. In New York I popped a dark-skinned Dominican in his face at a barbershop because of his disrespect toward this Afram girl I was friends with. He's made comments about Aframs before. |

I've had bad experiences with Indians/Pakistanis in the past, at school they will insult you in their native tongue and because none of the teachers knew what they were saying they got away with it.
If I was a victim of racism abroad I would take it on the chin proverbially (if I was attacked physically I would defend myself), if I am a victim of racism in England I just say, "Go home", that usually ends the matter. If you are a native you can always play that card, the 'you shouldn't be here' card. I don't like doing it, it makes you come across as a scummy person but if someone wants a racial war of words they can have one. |

Just institutionalized racism, that's why I have no job and live at home...yup.
The only time I've ever encountered racism is from Natives here and there. Nothing too bad, stuff like "eeeh whitey got a smoke" and if you refuse "fuckin' racist whitey". I haven't been gang-beaten like some. Interstitially I've never had any troublesome experiences because of my Lebanese side. |

I don't know if this really counts, but I'll post it anyways.
A few years ago, my friends and I were at YMCA. While there, there was a guy off in corner, watching us. It was kinda creepy. Eventually, the guy approaches us and asked asks me if I am Somali. I replied that I wasn't, but that I was Ethiopian. As soon as I said that, he gave my the dirtiest look and said something in Somali and walked away. I don't know what he said, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't pleasant. I was really confused by the whole incident. I mean, I've heard stories of Horners not liking other Horners, but that was the first time I ever met a Horner who didn't like me because I was an Ethiopian. |

When you look ambiguous or can pass as many things, you will experience the best of both worlds. Unwanted negative attention can include extra security searches on your person, intrusive questions, people calling you slurs and epithets due to your real or perceived ethnic group (and when they are mistaken it is a real hoot), or more often, the subtle, inappropriate comments and generalizations people make about your perceived group.
Institutional racism is the easiest for me to discern but the most difficult to remedy from what I see. |

This Barranquillero who was near white didn't want to attend a highschool he was supposed to attend because it was majority Black. He just had gotten here from Colombia with his brother. They're from Barranquilla in the Atlantic coast. Well anyhow he went on to say that at the school Black people like to rape, so then he said if I go there they would rape me cause "they love that black ass". I am against these racist ignorant immigrants coming here and making it worst.

I mean to chocolate level. I was in middle school and playing out in the sun one day for P.E. A mestizo Colombian comes up to my face and looks at me with disgust and says DAYUM YOU'RE BLACK AS FU*K! Someone I wasn't even cool with too. |
