Ethnic homogeneity is obviously better. Society works best when people can relate to each other. Ethnic diversity only works when one group is assimilated culturally by the larger population but at that point they're no longer an "ethnic other" but rather an extension of the larger population but with regional differences and minor old world customs that haven't faded away yet. Think White Ethnic Americans and many Asians that are assimilated to mainstream White American culture.

Both have their pros and cons, ethnic diversity can also have many culutres alongside it, the on is those cultures fighting agisnt each other, ethnic homogenerity is benefical as it is one culture, but the con is that the original cultures dissapear, it is like we have the Bull terrier, but its ancestor, the white terrier is extinct, due to exccesive mixture.

Translation: White ethnic minorities iz cool, non-whites aren't. anyways, cultural/ethnic diversity is great and all when it's able to work out for everyone. If it might cause problems, it should be avoided. I basically repeated what's already been said, but that's how I feel too. I like diversity a lot, but integrating everyone's cultures together doesn't always work because we can't all have our way. America is a melting pot because most people integrate and adopt our general way of life while still being able to celebrate their own culture. |

Cultures that are close enough each other and that share the same fundamental values can enrich a society IMO. Some strong backward cultures are, however, incompatible with modern western societies. They only create tensions, segregation and conflicts, I think. So it really depends on the case. I don't think, however, that there's anything bad in ethnic homogeneity. A society can still be international and open which is a whole different thing.

I think diversity is ok but there must be always one main, major culture/ ethnicity. One leading culture as an azimuth and smaller cultures matching the big one in major things but different in specific/ minor aspects.
I am for variety, which means every country should be a bit specific and different. Not globalised world of look-alike societes which are pseud-multiculti, while in fact they have no any culture, just anarchy. Then if you have a few different countries and you can choose the closest to you and move in there. No need to move to country you dont like and try to change it, go somewhere where you like it. |

I totally agree with Papa Anodyne.
Surely ethnic diversity is the reason for your existence in America no? Oh wait, in Stormfront mentality 'white' is an ethnicity. You guys suck balls. Translation: White ethnic minorities iz cool, non-whites aren't. |

It depends on the prevailing, current, dominant culture and popular socialist ideals.
For example, it is somewhat accurate to call the US the "Culture of Non-culture." The ethnic and racial Miscegenation obviously is connected to this (non-culture). But there is a method behind the madness… a type of cultural & ideological fusion. |

ethnic diversity is great when they all consider themselves to be of the same nationality but when you have to seperate them by african americans or irish americans then thats not really better and a more homogenous society is better... i believe it will be better to be homogenous in terms of identity rather than in terms of race

Ethnic Homogeneity eventually leads to death and destruction. Ethnic Heterogeneity on the other hand brings in new ideas, opinions, philosophies and views that will keep the wheel turning for a variety of circumstances. The one thing that will guarantee the success of the U.S. for some time to come is its Ethnic heterogeneity. Most of the great civilisations of the past were ethnically heterogeneous.
