Default Which is the 'average person' where you live? (Country, City, etc)
So I guess some of you must know this website ( www.faceoftomorrow.com ) which create the 'average faces' of different cities aroun the world. The creator is basically a guy who travels around the 5 continents taking pictures of a lot of people and getting an 'average face' when he puts them all together

1.- What do you think would the 'average face' of your city/country be like?

2.- What do you think about these attached pictures of 'average people' of each city? Did you expected them to be like that? Which one you did? Which one you didn't?

3.- Which similarities do you see between the different 'average faces' (e.g.: London with Amsterdam, Pamplona with Lisbon, etc.)

PICTURES.

EUROPE

1.- LONDON, ENGLAND.
2.- AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS.
3.- COLOGNE, GERMANY.
4.- FLORENCE, ITALY.
5.- PAMPLONA, SPAIN.
6.- LISBON, PORTUGAL.

LATIN AMERICA
1.- RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL.
2.- BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA.
3.- SANTIAGO, CHILE.
4.- LIMA, PERU.
5.- QUITO, ECUADOR.

ASIA-PACIFIC.

1.- ISTANBUL, TURKEY.
2.- DAMASCUS, SYRIA.
3.- NICOSIA, CYPRUS.
4.- HONG KONG, CHINA.
5.- SIDNEY, AUSTRALIA.

Buenos Aires, photos from Retiro station, 2 blocks away from the biggest and most important shantytown

Half of those people are paraguayans

It seems that the guy is biased towards the proletariat side of every city he visits.

That's a huge problem. I'm helping school kids in Retiro's ghetto, and less than 20% have argentinian citizenship.

And take into account that if you live 5 years straight, you are elegible for citizenship.

Man, the first guy in the third row is obviously intoxicated.

The Lisbon sample is representative in the sense that Lisbon is full of immigrants. The place where he took the photos is no exception.

Averages with non-native inmigrants... but in the individual sense is quite representative

And Italian girls are very hot, I don´t expected it...

This guy is obviously a con artist with an agenda or something.

20% of Hong Kongers are europeans? Really?

Only 4% of Londoners are south asians? And east asians are twice that number?

People in Istanbul are darker than Damascenes?

Getouttahere....

lol there is a Asian in the italian composite, the rest look fine.

---------- Post added 2011-03-09 at 00:56 ----------

In the italian composite the Uber Italian look is the guy in the 3rd line 2nd column, between the two blondes and above the asian girl.
The two guys from the first line seem suspicious, but not very outside the rule.

I'll answer

1.- What do you think would the 'average face' of your city/country be like?
It's difficult to say.

2.- What do you think about these attached pictures of 'average people' of each city? Did you expected them to be like that? Which one you did? Which one you didn't? I like the website, it's interesting to see people from all over the world. But the average faces with immigrants in them aren't very correct.

3.- Which similarities do you see between the different 'average faces' (e.g.: London with Amsterdam, Pamplona with Lisbon, etc.) Hum... i guess Lisbon is more cosmopolitan than Pamplona? Or maybe it depends where the pictures are taken. Maybe a photo shoot in a Pamplona square and in a Lisbon university would have the opposite resuts.

Seriously? Face of Tomorrow again? Those pictures are highly unrepresentative of people from Istanbul, to say the least.

I've also just noticed that the other cities have variation, while Istanbul is just represented by one tiny place, of a single ethnic group.

That's how you respond to people answering your questions in the OP is it?

May I ask if you posted this because half the people in the Santiago pictures look European? I mean, the cat is out of the bag now, we all know you strive to make Chile look like Norway.

First of all, I was joking, dear Muslim.

Second, that's the average of Santiago, you like it or not, and I didn't post it because of that, I'm not a mong.

Third, at my university people are QUITE more European than that, so if I wanted to make Chile look like Europe I'd post pictures of my friends from the university, and not the average of my city.

Fourth, if you can't take a joke, poor you. Be happy.

I see, I'll read your mind next time shall I?

Second, that's the average of Santiago, you like it or not, and I didn't post it because of that, I'm not a mong. It's probably not though is it?

Third, at my university people are QUITE more European than that, so if I wanted to make Chile look like Europe I'd post pictures of my friends from the university, and not the average of my city. I see, so you're saying Chile is, more or less, like Norway?

Fourth, if you can't take a joke, poor you. Be happy.v I think the problem is with you making a joke clear, if that indeed was the case. I don't sit down and predict your mindset when you write me something, I take the meaning given by your style of writing. There was nothing in your post to suggest you were joking, if you want to joke around, make it clear.

So do muslim people do that? Cool! I wish I could!

Are you mental? Learn to use the irony ;D Chile is darker than Argentina and Uruguay, and lighter than the rest of the countries from Latin America. My university is another story.

So do you think someone would say 'yeh yeh yeh yeh yeh' seriously? :s Anyway, I don't wanna argue with any-one. Let's stay on topic.

The chilean one doesn't look strange to me at all, I only see like one or two white people anyway. People on here seem to want to make Chileans look like peruvians or ecuadorians, the majority of chileans are mestizos of predominantly european ancestry.

I don't particularly want a flame war either, though this crap about me being Muslim is seriously not offensive, you can stop. Your sarcasm is a bore too, no subtlety whatsoever.

I'll let you return to your topic, though it's worth mentioning that I've seen shitloads of people say 'yeh yeh yeh yeh' seriously. Anyway, enjoy your thread.

Typical everyday Mexicans, proof that Quetzalcoatl must have been a magical Nordid man. The fourth one is a bit swarthy by our standards.

Anyone who disagrees can kindly piss off.
