Personally, apart from the small minority of mestizos there, I think Filipinos look very Asiatic, and not even like Amerindians minus a few South American tribes.

Some try and pinpoint the similarity as a result of Spanish influence in the Philippines, but I think it's the common mongoloid element. People in Spain don't look Filipino. Without Amerindian, neither would Latin Americans.

I'd bet 90% of Filipinos have no European ancestry.

I've actually mistaken Cambodians and Indonesians for Central Americans.

I'd doubt that Filipinos genetically cluster with any Hispanic group though. I think there's just some superficial similarity, mainly due to a shared mongoloid element.
