I had blond hair as a kid. It turned light brown when I was about six or so. It could also be noted that I was one of the darker kids in the class. Or do you think the "blondes do it better" and "men prefer blondes" movies who were produced by US media would have taken place in a country where natural blonde adults are very common? lol.. certainly not the case in the US and most of UK/Ireland. ---------- Post added 2010-09-16 at 19:26 ---------- And some where the tonality is relatively the same since ever. |

that might be in countries/places like Finland, sweden, denmark, holland, northern germany, norway, etc. But in countries like UK, Ireland, US, Canada most girls over 12 (or some even around 5 or 6) years old are not blonde anymore.. so my question was directed to the later.. |

Have been in Scandinavia and Northern Germany? Or, are you speaking things out of ass? ---------- Post added 2010-09-16 at 19:54 ---------- I have a few friends who are in their 20's who have natural platinum blond hair, but from my observation brown hair is much more common in adults. ![]() ---------- Post added 2010-09-16 at 19:58 ---------- I have a few friends who are in their 20's who have natural platinum blond hair, but from my observation brown hair is much more common in adults. |

Wikipedia states that men would have a higher frequency of blond and red hair than women. They give the following two studies as sources. I can't access the first one, and I can't find where this is stated in the second study. I tried searching the article for key words and skimming it, but I don't have the interest to read it word for word.

I remember reading somewhere that Blondism and Depigmentation in general is more common among females of all races. http://www.vdare.com/sailer/050612_blondes.htm By only about 10% or so, pretty much in every ethnic group...so even in some place like Southern Sudan women are slightly lighter than men, which is probably why we almost universally associate "fairness" with feminine. But I also read, on average women were more likely to have green eyes than men, but I'm not sure about blue vs brown... A study of Icelandic and Dutch adults found green eyes to be much more prevalent in women than in men. Among European Americans, green eyes are most common among those of Celtic and Germanic ancestry, about 16%.[44 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_color My observations in Switzerland were that there were more blond women, but then again this is tricky...at night it is harder to tell if it is a good hair dye job. Sometimes people's hair becomes blond when they are out in the summer months, but men often avoid this by wearing hats, women usually don't... I guess the best study would examine people's roots and in the winter time. :-) |

. Im sure Most of those brown haired norwegians would be refered as blonde in many other nations where blonde hair is uncommon, Specially japan SigridElsrud.jpgSusanFuruholmen.jpgPlVegarBinde.jpgRagnhildOlinAmdam.jpgAntonArnes.jpgStig_Birger.jpgHeidiTeigplassen.jpgGro-EllenLinns.jpgGunnMogseth.jpgSiljeVollan.jpgReidar.jpgKjell.jpgKjellErik.jpgTheaSIngvaldsen.jpgMyklebust.jpglandslagsdrakt_LiseXserud96_1211283.jpgbudeieL1_567868a.jpgStein01.jpg I think most of them would not be refered to as blonde. |

This is what I consider brown haired Norwegians: If most norwegians adults are like those you posted then norwegians are not much different than greeks. |

lol wut? I have noted such studies which took place in Finland can take a diferent direction in the UK considering the later received invasions several times by people which different pigmentations and looks, and if we take in consideration conquerors are usually men that can really make a disparity in terms of pigmentation and looks regarding genders. The native briton genes should have stayed more prevalent in the maternal dna sides therefore they would be more expressed in the females rather than the males. Same thing ocuured in many latin american countries where the invaders/settlers were spanish or portuguese conquerors. |
