Default Ethnicities you often mix up or think look alike!
For me it's usually;

1. Dominicans, Cape Verdeans, Afro-Cubans, and Afro-Brasilians
2. Southern Italians, Maltese, Albanians, and Greeks.
3. Ethiopians, Somalis, Eritreans, northern Sudanese, and southern/upper Egyptians.
4. Delta Egyptians and other North Africans
5. North Africans and Caribbean Latinos (sometimes)
6. US Natives from the southwest (Navajo usually) and Mexicans
7. Spanish and Portuguese (obviously) and sometimes they look similar to British/Irish.
8. All Scandinavians.
9. South American natives and Filipinos/Indonesians/Malaysians.
10. Haitians and West Africans (this one is obvious).
11. Dominicans and some Puerto Ricans

I can usually distinguish them, or at least pinpoint if they are from north, southern, east, or west Africa.

Best I can do is, horners, Khoi-San, rest of SSA's, of course, N africans all get pretty-much lumped together too.

Occasionally I mix up some Egyptians with Horn Africans.

I can ALWAYS (!) tell when someone is West African, though.

2) Kabyle Algerians and french

3) Pretty much all scandinavian countries get lumped together.

4) Greeks and Southern Italians and Sicilians.

5) most western africans I mix up for each other.

6) Central asians and biracial (white and Asian) mixes sometimes.

Honestly, Moroccans/Sahrawis don't look anything like most delta Egyptians (I won't speak for Algerians/Tunisians). Neither do Mauritanians.

All Levantines and ocassionally turks, kurds, persians.
Certain kind of Latin Americans with Iraqis, Egyptians and the above.
Horn Africans.
North Africans.
All other Africans look like clones of each other to me.
Same for south-east Asians. I can usually tell Mongols and Han Chinese, same with the Japanese apart easily, on the other hand.

I sometimes mistake Scandinavians for each other and are distinguishable from the native Dutch population, although I've confused quite a few too. But they look more "Borealized" on average.

You also mix these up? Interestingly I rarely mistake any of them for African Americans.

7. Melanesians and Aborigines.
This one is actually very easy.

Melanesians usually have nappy hair, Australian Aborigines have wavy or straight hair. Australian Aborigines also have very different facial features from Melanesians.

Not always, many Melanesians have Curly-Wavy hair and both are occasionally blonde

Few Arabs (Lebanese , Syrians , Tunisians , Algerians , Palestinians etc) are easily mistaken for each other in USA for example , from the experiences I've seen.
