No, they are not racist. They are friendly. What i mean is the sense of homogeneity in Finland, which is excellent if the world continues the way is going in 20 years Finland will be the only country with identity. |

Go to a baseball game on the 4th of July in New York. You will see plenty of "identity and nationalism" it is just not tied to blood, we have surpassed your tribalism. ![]() You still stuck in the 18th century extended tribalism...that is not much different from a hunter gather in the Kalahari. Our nationalism is our shared respect, admiration, and allegiance to ideals we hold above all else...these things bind us. And we don't need a communist dictatorship to force it on us either. One day you will evolve too. |

Politics and race should not mix, but nationalism and race must and will mix.
Why are all that anti-Russia? They are one of few countries in the world who are able to stand up to who ever they want to. They are one of few people who have fought bravely for their cause in every war. Their culture is in many aspects superior to that of other European cultures. They have been able to hold up the world's biggest country and have within 2 decades gone from a collapsed economy to one of the greatest economies in the World. |

Politics and race should not mix, but nationalism and race must and will mix. Americans are quite nationalistic. That was the point of my last post, but it is not based on race/ethnicity. That is a primitive old world tribalist 18th century concept of a state as came out of Europe. Join the modern world. We have evolved beyond that. Russia is not one of the greatest economies in the world...WTF are you talking about? Prove it. Show me something from the IMF, World Bank, etc showing that Russia is a developed 1st world nation. You can't, because it is not. Russia is a BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) a large developing nation. That's about it. No international economist outside of Russia would agree with your assessment. As far as able to 'stand up to enemies" who do they need to stand up to? A poorer weaker nation like Georgia? their own people (Chechens)? Who exactly? LOL "World's biggest nation" because most of Russia is nearly empty and they have nukes, so that is the only reason CHina has not overran the Russian Far East and Siberia...it would be easy to take those areas. Having nukes is not an accomplishment, Pakistan has them, so what. |

Natoinalism and race do not always mix. You are reading ways you want to. I did not say they are a developed country (I presume that is what you want to say with 1st world nation) however I did say that they are one of the greatest economies in the World if you do not agree, that is truly odd. Russia is neither a developed or developing nation but somewhere inbetween. |

4th of July? Maybe you mean el 5 del Mayos the new independence day of the Estados Unido de America. Look it up. In any case, I will forgive you like Jesus because you know not what you speak of. You can't miss heaven if you haven't lived there. In any case European tradition has nothing to do with Italian nationalism, unless you think there are no ethnic, linguistic, or cultural difference between Europeans and they are all just like Italians. You should learn from your ancestors. Romans understood that citizenship (which they got from the Greeks) was more important than "blood", eventually. When the empire was at its peak it was multi-ethnic. Italy will never be as great as Rome. Is it shocking that China, when at its peak, ,during the Tang Dynasty was also one of the most open and diverse periods of CHinese history, even the first King of Tang, was only half Han Chinese (his mother's family was Turkic). Italy will never be as great as Tang China, Rome, or the U.S. Fear of what you don't understand only makes you weak. Fear is the mind killer. |

In the whole of Europe I will guess some post-communist state (certainly not Russia, Bosnia or Romania). Once all Russians move out from Estonia and Latvia they will maybe be the most homogenous states in Europe, as they have no culturally and racially different immigrants and minorties (apart from a few Tatars). You find signs in Swedish in Helsinki btw (highly unnecessary if you ask me). And, the finnish social democrat Pavo Lipponen wants to protect that. |
