I actually wondered about that, because in the movie it looks like the whole thing takes place in Mexico, or at least the US westcoast. Typical wild-west environment. Perhaps it doesn't have anything to do with the original book.

Anyways.. one of my favorite hispanic characters. Vasquez in Aliens 2:

He is from a fictional country in the carribean, comparable to Cuba or Puerto Rico, plus he always has an accent so yeah he can technically be labeled as Hispanic.
