Default Cushing's ROY Award back to vote!
AP to re-vote on Cushing's rookie award

As a result of Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing's suspension for violating the NFL's steroid policy and his admission that he took a non-steroid banned substance, The Associated Press is taking a re-vote for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award, which Cushing won.
The AP will also re-vote for All-Pro outside linebacker, where Cushing initially received five votes and was named to the second team.

Just give it to the 2nd place guy. Why have a revote months after the fact?

Mathews is most deserving for the fact that he had the most impact its easy to stand out when the rest of your team sucks like byrd and orakpo

I guess I did not follow close enough to Cushing but he failed in September and they are just getting around to his appeal now? Wow...

So he played all season with that over his head knowing that sooner or later he was probably going to have the hammer come down. I just cannot believe it took that long to make a decision.

it's an individual award and should give to the best individual defensive rookie.

not accurate, so they cant. all the guys that voted for cushing need a chance to vote for someone else.

all the votes have to count, hence the revote.

I never thought about it that way. You have to look at the way the other people voted because the votes are obviously weighted.

Shawn Merriman and Julius Peppers both won ROY and later suspended, should we take their awards back too?

I thought the revote was still going to have his name on the ballot?

You just want Matthews to win.

I dont particularly care for the revote, and Cushing may still win again. He's not ineligible for the award.

I could care less if Cushing, Matthews, Okrapo, or Byrd win it. But I dont like the precedent of a re-vote.

it is, and more then writer has said they'll still vote for him. Don Banks thinks he'll still win, he won by a large margin.

...and to further my point, since he still eligible, is the reason I don't like the re-vote.
