With the draft being shifted to 3 days (1st round on Thursday, 2-3 on Friday, 4-7 on Saturday), I was thinking that we might see a bit of a skew on the draft pick valuation this year.
Primarily, those 'early picks' on Friday and Saturday - say, the first 5 picks in the 2nd round, and probably the first 10 picks in the 4th - as teams get more time to reassess who has been taken and who is still available, I could see several of them really taking the time to make good offers for those slots. Without the same time pressure to make a deal, I think that teams will be able to make deals and play them off each other. There won't be a very quick 'take it or leave it' window. Thoughts? |
