Would like to stress I've always sucked at human faces, but I decided to do a sketch of a photo I stumbled across on the web. Had to use the old knackered scanner at work and it cropped a bit aggressively, still, thought I'd share.

Ok i just had 10 mins to sorry this, my first image is to give you an idea about looking at contours of the face.
i have used circles to indicate the light/ dark areas, your darkest areas should fall outside the circles.


Heres a quick mock up of what i meant, i had to do this on a smart phone while fighting my bloody dog off lol!
