Biting off more than you can chew!
Went down to the river by my house today while my roommate was fishing. Stumbled upon this interesting little scene. Sadly I ended up scaring the snake away from the toad, though the toad seemed fine. The snake probably wouldn't have been able to swallow the toad anyway, but you never know, I used to have a python that would astound me with the rats it could take down.

I hate snakes, and i usually don't comment in this section, but that's a really cool pic, nice job.[thumbup]

Would have been able to eat it easily, they dislocate their jaw to swallow large prey.

Thanks Link!
Meaker, I realize that they dislocate their jaw, I have had several snakes as pets. But there is a simple matter of body girth ratios (generally prey should never be more than 1.5x the girth of the thickest part of the snake's body) and this was certainly pushing it. |
